Writing & Directing

My writing/directing focus is on content that makes people laugh and think, hopefully at the same time. Usually the stories I write are about women, pop culture and technology.

I currently write as an Internet vigilante named Katie here. (Yes, Instagram is a super formal platform for writing now! It’s 2019, my friends!)

Most recently, I was hired by Refinery29 to develop and pitch the scripted adaptation of their popular Money Diaries editorial series. It sold to Eko and will be produced as an interactive series.

A few years ago, I co-directed, wrote and produced the original short film Girl Band, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. The short caught the attention of Will Gluck’s production company Olive Bridge Entertainment and was developed at Freeform (fka ABC Family) as a potential one-hour TV series.

My short film-slash-pilot proof of concept The Society™️ will premiere on the festival circuit or Vimeo sometime in 2019. It’s a black comedy about loneliness, dating apps, and power dynamics between women. E-mail me for the link.

Producing

I bought this velour Adidas tracksuit so that people in the music world would immediately take me seriously. I am both happy and sad to report that it worked.

I’ve produced dozens of music videos, a handful of narrative shorts, and a couple of commercials. I’ve also produced a corporate video of epic proportions for Netflix.

Other clients include Capitol Records, Atlantic Records, Disney Puma, some of my dearest friends, Anonymous Content and Roc Nation as well as for artists including Katy Perry, college classmates and David Guetta.

You can see a lot of these projects laid out here. (Isn’t it weird that so many months and 16-hour days of my life have been compressed into an easy scrollable page on a website?)
